SOL: Plaster

Left sitting by the river
Quietly drowning in earthly vagueness
Swallowed up by morose craving
Blasé ears turned upwards as the clock
Lodged within my sternum incessantly ticks
Blonde hair turns black to the roots as
I slip into the current
Deeply submerged with no intention
Of coming back
Sunlight glinting off shoulder blades raised sharp
Like angel’s wings, arms stretched wide
In a dream I found you again
You told me all the things I longed to know
I used to pray you would be the one to find me
