MIND: Unsettled

Never let the future disturb you.
You will meet it, if you have to,
with the same weapons of reason
which today arm you against the present.

Meditations // Marcus Aurelius

MIND: Brooding

Whenever you are about to find fault with someone,
ask yourself the following question:
What fault of mine most nearly resembles
the one I am about to criticize?

Meditations // Marcus Aurelius

MIND: Resilient

‘How unlucky I am that this should happen to me.’
But not at all.
Perhaps, say how lucky I am that I am not broken by what has happened, and I am not afraid of what is about to happen. For the same blow might have stricken anyone, but not many would have absorbed it without capitulation and complaint.
